Position Summary
We are seeking a talented, ambitious and driven Director of Business Development to lead the charge in uncovering new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth for our solutions and software services in North America and Europe.
This high-impact leadership role is perfect for an experienced and capable professional with deep expertise in the sales of software services for Arm and RISC-V platforms, embedded systems, and open-source software ecosystems. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, bringing a proven track record in business development, strategic alliances, and B2B sales management within the embedded semiconductor SoC vendor and OEM markets.
As a key member of the leadership team, you’ll report directly to C-level executives, shaping RISCstar’s GTM strategy, expanding our global client base, and positioning us as a leader in software engineering services and solutions for Arm and RISC-V products/platforms.
This is our first full-time focused Business Development position and we need a talented and experienced sales leader who will initially be completely hands-on and draw on their experience and smarts to uncover and deliver successful sales results and then build and lead a great field team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business strategies that drive revenue growth in Arm and RISC-V software solutions and industrial applications with OEMs and SoC Vendors
- Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders globally.
- Find new customers, leveraging your expertise in software services for embedded products and open-source ecosystems to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
- Collaborate with senior executives and peers to align business objectives and secure high-value services and solutions deals.
- Represent RISCstar Solutions as a brand ambassador at industry events, conferences, and client engagements.
- Stay ahead of market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments, refining strategies to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with client needs and company goals.
- Consistently achieve or exceed revenue and growth targets while maintaining exceptional client satisfaction.
- Work collaboratively with senior executives and cross-departmental customer teams to help them solve complex business challenges.
- Ability to qualify leads, develop opportunities, proficiently navigate internal prospective customer organizations building strong relationships and closing business.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years of proven success in business development, strategic alliances, or sales management within technical consulting firms or product/solution providers.
- Deep expertise in embedded systems, software services and solutions, understanding and experience with open-source software such as Linux, and their ecosystems.
- Demonstrated ability to drive substantial business and revenue growth with software and services with OEM and SOC vendors in the semiconductor or related technology sectors.
- Background in both large organizations and startups, showcasing agility and adaptability in dynamic environments.
